Exchange Supplies - tools for harm reduction

Quality defined

Quality, safety and a committment to improving the health of drug users lies at the heart of what we do.

On this page we have listed some of the quality guarantees that lie behind our sachets.

Expiry date

Firstly there is an expiry date on every sachet guarantees product safety. We replace, free of charge, any sachets that are close to or past their expiry date. Just call 01305 262244 to arrange a free swap-out.

Exact production day recording
We have an exact production date on every sachet.

We record where every box goes by product, batch and day code so that we could, in the event of a problem, recall (and replace) a single day’s production to every customer that has received them.

The printed production code uses the following convention: the first digit is the year of manufacture, the last three are the day of the year (With January 1st as 001, December 31st 365).

Four-side crimp seal

Crimping sachets on all 4 sides is the gold standard for sachet construction, because it reduces contamination risk by removing the need for the mechanical arm that folds three-side crimp seal sachets. Sample sachets are removed from production every hour and vacuum tested in a water tank for seal integrity.

Unique printed information on EVERY sachet, and every sheet

There are six essential harm reduction messages on every sheet.

Our name and address on every sachet to ensure accountability, proper and timely traceability, reporting of problems by users, and response to drug litter.

Sheets of 10 sachets

Only machines with the highest accuracy can fill sheets of ten – if there’s a problem with one then the whole sheet is wasted, so that's why less accurate machines only do singles or pairs.

Guaranteed fill weights

our sachet machine has a unique electronic individual-fill checking sensor that checks every sachet to ensure correct filling. In addition, sample sheets are removed from production every hour and the contents of each sachet weighed to ensure that they fall within our exacting fill tolerances – if any of the test sachets fail, they are not released for sale.
